“Keep it simple” – Emma
People overthink all the time.
Your probably doing it right now.
And it’s not your fault we have too many many options.
Whether deciding on where to go for dinner, what career to purse, or some hot new opportunity to make some mulla.
You might be thinking, “oh man I could make some money doing this service business!”
Or, “I really think this idea would work!”
And yes although you are initially excited.
You are actually scared.

Scared of making the wrong choice or pursing the wrong opportunity.
Which unfortunately leads you to spin in circles.
Over and over and over again.
And what’s even worse is you don’t make any progress along the way!
This sucks, I know! I’ve been there but we goin to get through it.
So today, I’m going to save you sometime and go over all the shinny stuff that I have considered doing so you can see why overcomplicating the bigger stuff, is destroying your progress.
After all we both want to build or being a part of something big.
Why else would you be here…
Overcomplicating Is Your Crush.. Trust me They Ain’t Into You
When I first found, “entrepreneurship“, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
And yes I’ll admit, because I was interested in the people you see on the big screen.
You know the super smart person who everyone admires and now all of the sudden is a stupid rich because they brought their company public.

I mean who wouldn’t want that.
It’s literally out of the social network.
But seriously, the real reason I seem to be attracted to this “entrepreneurship” thing is because it sounds generally cool.
Take an idea that you are passionate about…
Find people that have the same problem as you…
All while making money along the way from solving that thing that bothers you or you see an opportunity in…
There is no shortage of startups, business opportunities or sick jobs out there.
Go on YouTube, read Medium, read Twitter, LinkedIn, it doesn’t matter.
You will find multiple people in every corner telling you that you can make $10,000 a month doing something.
But that’s where it gets dangerous.
You see all these opportunities to make money.
Money!!!!!!!
And like me (at the start) you become tempted, even if it isn’t your type.
You still chase…
Deep down you know that a quick money grab is not what you want, sure its nice to have a quick 10k in the pockets when you hit the town.
But really you are overcomplicating the thing you know that actually interests you.
And that if you actually put in the work, it could work.
That was cool.
I’ve fallen in the trap of chasing money just because I needed a buck.
Here’s some examples:
- Tried Drop shipping Products from China (felt like 💩 selling cheap products)
- Helped some seniors with their technology (had some success in LA but knew that I wasn’t passionate about it long term)
- Did the flipping items on Facebook Marketplace for free thing (so much walking, have to wait till someone is interested to buy if they are at all)
I’ve tried a bunch of stuff.
And the more stuff I’ve tried the more I realize it’s not money to chase, its the thing you think about or actually get excited about.
Don’t fake it, be real.
Overthinking leads you to follow the thing that you aren’t actually interested in.
If you want to make money that’s great, go on YouTube type in “Alex Hormozi how to make money“, and let him tell you (check the link).
I’m not your guy for that right now.
But I can tell you that if you are like me and want to do build something big or be apart of something big.
The more I’ve processed, talked to people and done myself, you need to take steps.
We can’t keep taking steps in one direction, see something new and chase that.
Cause you’ve lost momentum.
You’ll need to start all over again.
There are a billion different ways to make a billion dollars.
But if we don’t choose one me and you probably won’t even make a buck.
I’m aiming for impact, the more I go off journey, the less likely I’ll achieve what I wish.
Looking for a story… read my last post about my first failure here.
The Power of Going All-In
Here are some people that I want to be like.
Besides these people being absolute studs they have one thing in common.
They Go All In on One Thing
By now you are probably are saying, I’ve heard all this before.
This isn’t me, I know I can try multiple things at a time, and one of them will work.
I don’t need to listen to this dude.
And you might be right you don’t need to listen to me.
We’ve never even meet.
Hey I’m Miles.
But honestly we are probably a lot alike, especially if you have read this far.
- Full Time Job
- UPath (name tbd)
- This blog (i.e. my love)
- And something else… Sales?
Are the things I am working on / considering.
But again the more time you spend doing multiple things less we can see results with one.
So you see I am probably just like you.
I know for a fact that you might be running through excuses of why this doesn’t apply to you.
You will keep running in circles I know this.
We do this, disco, disco.
Being able to concentrate energy, time, and resources on a singular thing will only increase the odds of it succeeding.
I know because it’s more and more obvious to me as I write this to you.
My Next Move
UPath (again name pending) is focused on a space that I’ve had mixed emotions about, my career.
I’ve tried a bunch of stuff and have a much much better direction then I once had but still don’t know 100% how to make something big.
Do you need skills? Is it a believe thing? Is it a luck thing? What is it..
I will go all in on UPath with me and my good friend Ken (what’s up Ken).
To build something that can help anyone that is looking to do something big or be apart of something big!
Going to document the whole thing on this blog so if you like that you know 😉
Let’s Sum It Up
- Pick something you can work hours on (for money or not pick highest leverage thing)
- Try to pinpoint the skills you want to gain or the leverage you want to create
- Spend hours, weeks and months continuously thinking, improving it and executing.
Me and you need to remove all the opportunities out there, no more overcomplicating stuff.
Only action towards the things we genuinely enjoy.
Towards the bigger thing we want to build or be apart of.
And that takes time to know as well but Robert Green said it best, “chase the thing you have genuine curiosity about.”
And yes if we want to make more money (cause that is important especially if you live in NYC like me)
We should combine the passion or thing you want to work and money.
Cause if you have the right skills (sales, marketing, design, programming, strategy etc.), you can honestly get paid for the skill (job, freelance, service business) or use that to purse your bigger thing (sick job or massive business).
Hope you got some good W’s from this one.
Appreciate you, till next time.
-Miles
